Thursday, Jan. 25 – The Parry McCluer High School wrestling team defeated Bath County 46-36 to defend its Pioneer District title at home on Thursday night in Buena Vista.
Before the dual, the Fighting Blues honored their lone senior, Scottie Garrett, who wrestled at 144-pounds.
Blues winning their bouts, including those winning by forfeit, were Clyde Vassar (106-pounds), Bradack Smith (113), Cyler Driscoll (120), Jordan Brockenbrough (126), Jackson Brockenbrough (150), Junior Convers (165), Kaiden Conner (190) and Timmy Lesher (285/heavyweight).
Before the high school dual, fans were also treated to PeeWee (little league) wrestling.
The Blues will return to action at home tomorrow, Friday, when they play host to Northside and Rural Retreat at 6 p.m. On Saturday, they’ll wrestle in the Highlander Invitational at Glenvar High School in Salem, starting at 9 a.m.
