Esther Pennington, 540-291-2629 High Bridge Presbyterian Church welcomed its newest member, Kinsely Ann Myers, on Jan. 28. She was baptized this past Sunday by new pastor Steve Willis. Kinsely is the daughter of Brad and Hattie Myers, and little sister to Corey and Everly Myers. Proud grandparents in attendance were Pam Myers and Bob and Kathy Gilbert.
The Presbyterian Women will have their annual meeting on Feb. 4 after worship beginning with a soup and salad luncheon. The men will wash dishes while the ladies attend their meeting, at which annual reports will be presented, a memorial service will be held for ladies past, and new officers will be installed. The women’s mission project for this quarter is “Women’s Health, Comfort, Care.” The congregation is invited.
High Bridge will celebrate “Souper Bowl” Sunday with a soup and salad luncheon on Feb. 11. During worship, two of our young members will push a wheelbarrow down the church aisle to collect soup and nonperishable food items for the Natural Bridge/Glasgow Food Pantry.
Circle No. 1 meets on Tuesday, Feb. 6, at 6 p.m. with Sheryl West. The Bible lesson to be taught by Lea Braford. Circle No. 3 meets Tuesday, Feb. 13, at 1 p.m. with Carol Tolley.
The Glasgow/Natural Bridge area mourns the loss of Charlie Mack Wood, a sports activist and member of the class of 1957 at Natural Bridge High School.
The Natural Bridge/Glasgow Food Pantry will be held Saturday, Feb. 3, from 9 to 11 a.m.
