Donald Trump Jr., Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin, Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp and former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo will be among the speakers at next weekend’s Washington and Lee University’s Mock Convention.
The student leaders of the mock convention released the speaker lineup Monday for the Republican mock convention, which will be held next Friday and Saturday, Feb. 9-10, at the Duchossois Tennis Center.
After the traditional delegates parade that Friday morning at 8:30, sessions will run Friday afternoon from 12:30 to 4, Friday evening from 6 to 9:30, Saturday morning from 10 to 12:30 p.m. and Saturday afternoon from 3 to 6:30. The voting will take place during the fourth session on Saturday afternoon.
Some general admission tickets to the mock convention are still available via Eventbrite. Each ticket costs $210 and provides access to the venue and a designated seating area. The event will be live-streamed through the mock convention’s website.
Donald Trump Jr., Youngkin and Kemp are all speaking during the third session on Saturday morning.
Pompeo, who served as both secretary of state and director of the CIA under former president Trump, will be among those speaking during the second session on Friday evening. He will be joined by Chris Miller, who was an acting secretary of defense in the last months of the Trump administration; Mike Allen, cofounder of the news platform Axios; and social psychologist Jonathan Haidt.
Speakers for the first session on Friday afternoon include Charlie Kirk, founder and CEO of Turning Point USA; political commentator Candice Owens; Amy Walter with the Cook Political Report; and pollster Kristen Soltis Anderson.
Speakers for the Saturday afternoon session include Asa Hutchinson, former governor of Arkansas; Kayleigh McEnany, White House press secretary under Trump; members of the Ruthless Variety Podcast; and Rep. Wesley Hunt from Texas.
