Rockbridge Plant and Seed Resource
Rockbridge Area Master Gardeners have developed great resources specific to our region that can help you make smart choices for your landscape and garden decisions in preparation for spring.
The website is ramga.org and there you can browse the new plant and seed libraries that are tailored to the Rockbridge region. The online plant library allows you to search plants by category or purpose, as well as by an easy-to-use search function. The plant descriptions provide a color image, a concise description of the plant, and a link to access more information. The seed library is similarly constructed, directing you to categories of plants suited to meet your goal.
The new online seed library will also feature a material manifestation of its catalog available at the Rockbridge Public Library in Lexington coming this month. Interested gardeners can explore seeds they are interested in planting; access information on best practices to achieve success in starting their seed; and, in some cases, acquire some of the desired seed at the public library in Lexington.
Interested gardeners can also subscribe to RAMGA’s periodic newsletter The Garden Gate and browse the publication’s archive. Learn more at ramga.org.
