Glasgow Town Council received word that the Rockbridge Regional Fair and Expo will be moving back to the Virginia Horse Center this summer. The dates are Sept. 12-14.
There will soon be compost bins located at the farmers market site for you to place your food scraps like plate scraps, fruits, veggies, egg shells, coffee grounds with filter, etc. One bin will be for dumping the scraps, the other for straw and grass clippings to be placed on top of what food scraps you place in the other bin. There will be written instructions posted on the bins.
Congrats to new grandparents Bobby and Amy Hinkle. Elizabeth Marie “Ellie” Hinkle was born a few weeks early to Eric and Megan Hinkle in Richmond, weighing a little under 3 pounds. Little Ellie is a fighter and is doing remarkably well. Congrats to all.
James Sampson was a recent patient at the hospital in Lexington. Thankfully he is home and recovering nicely, and was able to be back leading the congregational music at Glasgow Baptist for the past two weeks. Alecia Armentrout has been a patient at Roanoke Memorial and was released to Carrington Place for some rehab last week. She hopes to be home in a week or so to continue her recovery. Laura “Sis” Powell continues to recover, with the help of physical therapy, from her hospital stay a few months ago.
Several folks from the Glasgow area enjoyed another delicious community meal at the Thompson Community Center, catered by Sweet Treats of Lexington. The next meal will be at the Natural Bridge Volunteer Fire Department today, Feb. 21, from 6 to 7 p.m. All are welcome and donations will be accepted.
