Thank you to Dianne Swink and Clementine Clark for the prelude music for Sunday’s service at New Monmouth Presbyterian Church. Thank you to the praise team for leading the church in the song “How Deep the Father’s Love for Us.” Pastor Casey Clark preached from 1 Peter 3. We prayed for many folks who are traveling and many who are sick. We rejoiced with Alana Conner who has another opportunity to enjoy a “night to shine!”

We had a lovely pancake dinner at New Monmouth on “Fat Tuesday.” Thank you to all the volunteers who helped with food and set-up. Thank you to Calvin Clark, James Baker and Aiden Gist for playing music during the dinner. And, thank you to everyone who donated to the food bank.

We began the season of Lent last Wednesday with a special Ash Wednesday service. All who wanted received the sign of the cross on their foreheads, a reminder of our mortality and a sign of our source of hope in Jesus Christ.

This Sunday, Feb. 25, is Music Sunday! We have a great amount of music that will be offered by many different people. Everyone is invited to come to this service and to stay for a fellowship luncheon. The church will provide Kenney’s chicken. Please bring a side dish or dessert to share. It is also the fourth Sunday of the month, so please bring your change for our 4-cents-a-meal collection.

The property committee is hosting a church work day on Saturday, March 16. Please plan to come out for any amount of time that you can give. There are many different tasks to do and your help is needed. Classrooms will be tidied, excess items removed from hallways and closets, and some demolition work are all on the agenda.

New Monmouth will have an Easter egg hunt on Saturday, March 23, at 3 p.m. All are invited for fun, food, crafts and egg hunting.
