A woman from Rockbridge County is among the newest Virginia state troopers.
Hannah M.S. Buren, 23, graduated from the Virginia State Police’s basic session, which included 28 weeks of classroom, practical and physical training, on Feb. 23 at state police headquarters in North Chesterfield.
She is a graduate of Mary Baldwin University with a degree in criminal justice. Buren’s’ first duty assignment will be in the cities of Virginia Beach and Norfolk.
Another of the most recent graduates will be coming to Rockbridge County.
Thomas B. Becker, 22, of Salem, has been assigned to the counties of Rockbridge and Botetourt. He is a graduate of Roanoke College with a degree in physics.
Becker and Buren will report to their duty assignments on March 4.
