PLANNING COMMISSION PUBLIC HEARING March 12th 2024

Pursuant to Code of Virginia Section 15.2-2204 and the City of Buena Vista Land Development Regulations, notice is given that the Planning Commission will hold a public hearing to receive comment on the following matters.

-Conditional Use Permit for a cat shelter (kennel) at 2463 Beech Avenue The Public Hearing will be held in the City Council Chambers located in the Municipal Building located at 2039 Sycamore Avenue in Buena Vista during the regular monthly Planning Commission meeting at approximately 7:00 PM on Tuesday, March 12th 2024.

ROCKBRIDGE COUNTY NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARINGS

Notice is hereby given per Section 15.2-2204 of the Code of Virginia and Section 808 of the County of Rockbridge Land Development Regulations (the Regulations) that the following public hearings will be held by the Rockbridge County Planning Commission on Wednesday, March 13, 2024, at or after 7:00 p.m. in the Board of Supervisors Meeting Room in the County Administration Building, 150 South Main Street, Lexington, Virginia 24450 to consider the following applications: 1) Michael W. Godfrey and Laurie-An Lanpher, 926 Maury River Road, Lexington, Virginia 24450 have made an application for a conditional zoning map amendment. The properties are owned by Michael W. Godfrey and Laurie-An Lanpher and are located on the east side of Maury River Road, approximately 1.15 miles north of the intersection of Maury River Road (Route 39) and Alphin Lane (Route 750). The properties are currently in the General Residential (R-1) Zoning District. The application is to rezone the properties to the Agricultural Transitional (A-T) Zoning District, with acceptance of potential proffers. The property (above address) is owned by David and Carol Losapio and is located on the westside of Padgetts Hill Road (Route 690), approximately 0.90 miles north of the intersection of Padgetts Hill Road (Route 690) and Red Clover Lane (Route 849) and is further identified as tax map number 95-14-C. The property is in the Buffalo Magisterial District.

ROCKBRIDGE COUNTY NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

Notice is hereby given per Section 15.2-2204 of the Code of Virginia and Section 808 of the County of Rockbridge Land Development Regulations (the Regulations) that the following public hearing will be held by the Rockbridge County Board of Supervisors on Monday, March 11, 2024, at or after 6:00 p.m. in the Board of Supervisors Meeting Room in the County Administration Building, 150 South Main Street, Lexington, Virginia 24450 to consider the following application: 1) Volcano Energy LLC, 19890 State Line Road, South Bend, Indiana, 46637 has made an application for a Special Exception Permit to develop a 5.00-MW (AC) solar project. The property is located on the south side of Moores Trail (Route 794), approximately 0.41 miles west of the intersection of Moores Trail and Steeles Fort Road (Route 706). The property is owned by Sylvia G. Moore, 13801 York Road M14, Cockeysville Maryland, 21030 and is further identified as tax map number 40-A-1. The property is located in the Agricultural and General Uses (A-2) Zoning District and in the Agricultural Transitional (A-T) Zoning District. Per section 603.03-9 of the Regulations, Public Utilities are a use by special exception in the A-2 District. Per section 603B.03-14 of the Regulations, Public Utilities are a use by special exception in the A-T District. The property is located in the South River Magisterial District.

2) Rockbridge County, 150 South Main Street, Lexington, Virginia 24450, has made an application for Zoning Text Amendments (ZTA) to modify Sections 302: Specific Definitions, to define Carwashes and modifications to Section 605.00 to provide for carwashes as a permitted use in the General Business (B-1) Zoning District. ROCKBRIDGE COUNTY NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

Notice is hereby given per Section 15.2-2204 of the Code of Virginia and Section 807 of the County of Rockbridge Land Development Regulations (the Regulations) that the following public hearing will be held by the Rockbridge County Board of Zoning Appeals (BZA) Wednesday, March 20, 2024, at or after 7:00 p.m. in the Board of Supervisors Meeting Room in the County Administration Building, 150 South Main Street, Lexington, Virginia 24450 to consider the following application: 1) Forrest and Carolyn Sutherland, 40 Robindale Court, Buena Vista, Virginia 24416 have applied for a variance from Section 701 and Table 1 of the County of Rockbridge Land Development Regulations to encroach into the front setback in the Agricultural and General Use (A-2) Zoning District. The property (TBD Longview Meadows Drive, Lexington VA 24450) is in the Longview Meadows Subdivision (Lot 21) and is located on the east side of Longview Meadows Drive (Route 1060), approximately .38 miles south of the intersection of Longview Meadows Drive (Route 1060) and Riders Ridge Trail (Route 1061). Current setbacks for dwellings in the A-2 Zoning District are sixtyfive feet (65’) front, fifty-foot (50’) sides, and fifty-foot (50’) rear. The proposed front setback encroachment is fifteen (15’) feet into the Front setback in order to construct the proposed dwelling. The property is in the South River Magisterial District and further identified as Tax Map # 76-18-21.

TOWN OF GLASGOW Notice of Public Hearing Sale of Property

Notice is hereby given, per Section 15.2-1800 of the Code of Virginia, that the Council of the Town of Glasgow, Va. will hold a public hearing on Wednesday, March 13, 2024 at 7pm in the meeting room of the Glasgow Public Library at 1108 Blue Ridge Trail, to hear public comment on a proposed ordinance to sell the 1.747 acre parcel of land at the intersection of Rockbridge Rd. and Jarvis Trail, map #108-A6-1171A, commonly referred to as the triangle, to JMB Acquisitions Company, LLC, for the purpose of construction a new Dollar General store.
