Lexington Presbyterian Church will offer the first of two Lenten Music at Noon organ concerts on Wednesday, March 13, at noon with a recital by William McCorkle. The concerts will feature the church’s C.B. Fisk pipe organ (opus 128, 2007).
The March 13 program will offer organ works based on three important Reformation hymns for the Lenten season. Composers represented on the program will include baroque masters Johann Sebastian Bach, Dietrich Buxtehude, Heinrich Scheidemann, and Georg Friedrich Kauffmann, and 20th-century organists Max Reger, Marcel Dupré, and Helmut Walcha.
A second Lenten recital, on Wednesday, March 27, at noon, will feature organ works for Holy Week.
