High winds over the weekend left a number of Rockbridge residents without power.
The National Weather Service recorded winds on Sunday and Sunday night routinely above 20 miles per hour, with gusts up to 35 mph.
As of noon on Monday, Dominion Electric reported 71 households without power, mostly in and around Goshen.
BARC Electric Cooperative reported 36 households without power, and posted an update Monday morning thanking workers.
“We appreciate our crews working hard yesterday through some rough, windy conditions,” it reads. “They are still hard at work this morning restoring the remainder of the outages in BARC’s territory.”
As of noon on Tuesday, both companies were reporting zero outages.
Nathan Ramsey, Rockbridge fire and rescue chief, said that the fire departments did not receive any emergency calls, but responded to a few downed trees.
“We didn’t have any major incidents,” he said. “We did respond to a few trees down across roads throughout the county. Thankfully, it was nothing too bad.”
