Ukrainian Relief Effort Plans Presentations

The Rockbridge Ukrainian Relief Effort will offer a presentation on local efforts to provide humanitarian aid to carefully vetted small charities which are primarily operated by volunteers in Ukraine on two successive Saturdays ‒ March 16 and March 23 ‒ at 1:30 p.m. in the Westfel room of Murray Hall of Lexington Presbyterian Church.

Charities supported include an orphanage, a mini-hub delivering humanitarian aid (food, water and other essential items for survival) from the international aid hub to within 1 kilmeter of the front lines. Others include the Brave Foundation, which rebuilds homes, schools and hospitals and a burn clinic offering free medical care.

The public is invited to hear the story of a Washington and Lee University student, whose family survived the atrocities in Bucha, Ukraine, as well as presentations of several of these charities.

Every dollar raised in Rockbridge County reaches these Ukrainian charities as the Rockbridge Ukrainian Relief Effort and its financial partner, the Slavic Christian Church, charge no administrative fees.
