Mike Stolarz of Lexington was recently named to the Growth and Opportunity Virginia (GO Virginia) Region 8 Council.
GO Virginia is an initiative by Virginia’s senior business leaders to foster private-sector growth and job creation through state incentives for regional collaboration by business, education, and government. Region 8 stretches from Rockbridge County to Winchester.
The Northern Shenandoah Valley Regional Commission serves as Region 8’s leading support organization, with additional support from the Central Shenandoah Planning District Commission, which serves the Rockbridge area.
Stolarz was one of three new Council members nominated at the group’s first quarterly meeting of the year in January.
Stolarz is the vice president of Business Development at UTS Systems (formerly Dynovis Corp.), where he has worked since 2016. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps, participating in numerous overseas operations and deployments including Somalia, Kosovo, Haiti and Cuba. He is a board member of the Lexington-Rockbridge County Chamber of Commerce and served on the Rockbridge County Planning Commission and the board of directors of the Lime Kiln Theater.
