Kerrs Creek

Rachel Clark, (630) 607-9938 [email protected] New Monmouth Presbyterian Church’s session met for its monthly meeting last Sunday. The session voted to send this quarter’s extra mission funds to RARA, Rise Against Hunger, and the Kerrs Creek Fire Department. We will also begin to participate in a local Rockbridge County program that seeks to support children in foster care or at risk of entering foster care. Through Care Portal we will be able to help meet the needs of families in our community.

New Monmouth’s Ladies Evening Circle will gather tomorrow, Thursday, March 21, at 7 p.m. at the home of Deb Jarrett. We will meet for study, discussion, prayer and fellowship.

There are opportunities to help with some church cleanup on Friday and Saturday. Contact Tim Welsh to find out about timing for Friday. The church work day on Saturday, March 23, begins at 8 a.m.

There will be a graveside memorial service for Janet Sensabaugh on Saturday, March 23, at 11 a.m. at New Monmouth cemetery with a luncheon to follow in the fellowship hall.

There will be an Easter egg hunt at New Monmouth on March 23 at 3 p.m. The youth group should come at 1:30 p.m. to church to hide Easter eggs.

Worship with us on Easter Sunday, March 31! Easter Sunrise service on Hotinger Hill (turn at 199 Fredericksburg Road) is at 7 a.m. on March 31. Breakfast will be served at New Monmouth following the sunrise service. We will have our regular service in the sanctuary at 11 a.m.

Who wants to take a hike? Join members of New Monmouth for a Sunday afternoon picnic and walk on the Woods Creek Trail on April 14. We will gather after church (12:30-ish) at Waddell. Pack a lunch and meet up for a fun time together. Dogs (on leashes) are welcome!

Please be in prayer for the Sensabaugh family as they mourn the passing of Janet. Also be in prayer for Karen Duff as well as her family as they grieve the passing of her Uncle Noak.

Happy birthday to Leila Hackett and Ann Bailey Lipsett who had birthdays last week. Happy birthday to Pastor Casey Clark who celebrates a birthday this week.
