High Bridge

Esther Pennington, 540-291-2629

High Bridge Presbyterian Church celebrated the resurrection of Jesus Christ on Easter Sunday including several families visiting from out of town. During the service, the Rev. Steve Willis baptized Margaret Harriet Thomas, infant daughter of Andrew and Daisy Thomas and granddaughter of Tim Wilhelm and Charlene Worley. The congregation also enjoyed special music from the choir and several Easter lilies were donated in memory of family members.

High Bridge will celebrate Holy Communion on Sunday, April 7. Over 30 children enjoyed the Easter egg hunt on Saturday. A great big thank you to the Presbyterian Women for supplying the refreshments.

The High Bridge Cemetery Committee requests that flowers be removed now before the upcoming mowing and weed eating season.

Many thanks to the deacons for the church grounds cleanup. High Bridge mourns the passing of Doug Kemp, who passed away March 27 at his home after a short illness. Doug was the husband of Connie Fox Kemp, and father of Kristen Kemp and family. A memorial service for Doug will be held Friday, April 5, at 1 p.m. at High Bridge.

A memorial service and reception for Lorna Whisler will be held at High Bridge on Saturday, April 6, at 11 a.m.

The evening circle will meet on Tuesday April 9, at 6 p.m. with Esther Pennington. Faye Worley will lead the Bible study.

The Natural Bridge/Glasgow food pantry will be open Saturday, April 6, from 9 to 11 a.m.
