Kerrs Creek

Rachel Clark, (630) 607-9938 [email protected]

New Monmouth Church observed Good Friday with a service of scripture and meditation on Jesus’ crucifixion. The community gathered at 7 a.m. Sunday at Hotinger Farm for a sunrise service to usher in our Easter celebration.

Thank you to all the musicians for helping to lead our time of worship. Calvin Clark played “Christ the Lord is Risen Today” on trumpet for the prelude. Karen Duff, Tim Hodges, Laura Hotinger, Hope Bird, Casey Clark and Rachel Clark led the praise songs. Rachel Clark preached from the Gospel of Matthew, and challenged attendees to remember that Jesus calls us into community.

The sunrise service was followed by breakfast at New Monmouth. Thanks to everyone who provided food and drinks for breakfast!

The adult and children’s choirs provided special music during the 11 a.m. Easter service. Thank you to Laura Hotinger (organ), Julia Evans (piano), and Calvin Clark (trumpet) for providing the two prelude pieces. Casey Clark preached the sermon for the 11 a.m. service, reminding us that there are places in our lives where we try to hold Jesus back. Let’s let his resurrected life infiltrate every area of our lives.

Thank you to everyone who brought flowers to “flower the cross.” It was beautiful!
