Glasgow

Carolyn Bradley, 258-2720

Correction! The rabies clinic is scheduled for Saturday, April 20, instead of the 30th, as I reported last week. Sorry, I looked at the wrong information. The clinic will be held at the Glasgow First Aid building on McCulloch Street from 1 to 3 p.m. The cost is $10 each, for dogs and cats. This is a drive-thru event.

The compost bins have been installed at the farmers market location. Basic instructions are to place your table scraps in one bin and cover it with some straw from the second bin. Look for the tent at the Spring Vendor Event on April 27 for information on the use of compost bins.

A vendors meeting will be held at the farmers market on Saturday, April 6, at 2 p.m. This is for vendors who will be setting up on the 27th, but especially for those who will be setting up all during the season. The regular season market will be open the weekend of May 3 and 4. They anticipate having food vendors available each weekend this season.

Wes Young Jr. has been invited to deliver a trial sermon at Glasgow Baptist Church, this Sunday, April 7, at 11 a.m. He was guest speaker there a few weeks ago, and was interviewed by the Pastor Search Committee, who is recommending him to be their next pastor. The congregation will vote by secret ballot the following Sunday, April 14.

Mike, Carolyn and Wes Bradley, along with Teri B. Blake, participated in the Spring Craft event at the Vinton War Memorial last Saturday. Mike will be setting up with his yard flags, décor and more at the Spring Vendor Event.
