There will be a rabies clinic at the Glasgow Life Saving and First Aid building April 20 from 1 to 3 p.m.
The vaccines are being provided by Dr. Kerri McDermott and her staff at the Natural Bridge Animal Hospital. The cost is $10, which will be donated to the Glasgow First Aid.
Each animal owner will be expected to provide identification showing name and address, preferably a driver’s license. This is for accuracy and expediency of certificate.
For a three-year certificate, certification from the previous vaccination must be provided by state law. If not, the animal will be eligible only for a one-year certificate. Dr. McDermott will make that eligibility determination.
Pets and owners are to remain in their vehicles. This will be a drive-thru clinic. All leash and maintaining control of pet laws are expected to be followed.
Cats must be in a carrier. Volunteers will take the cat in its carrier into a separate room to administer the vaccine, in order to ensure the safety of the animal.
“We are thankful for the Natural Bridge Animal Hospital and the Glasgow Life Saving and First Aid Crew for their participation in this community service,” said a first aid spokesperson.
