A look back at the first season of the 611 steam engine excursions in Rockbridge County will be the focus of a talk and PowerPoint presentation at the Glasgow Public Library on Tuesday, April 23, at 7 p.m. Will Harris, president of the Virginia Museum of Transportation, will talk about what went into bringing the excursions to Goshen last fall. Darryl Woodson, editor of The News-Gazette, and his wife Mary, a longtime stringer photographer for the paper, will show photos and videos from their “train chasing” efforts as they helped cover the excursions for the paper. This photo taken by Mary Woodson shows Harris and some of his family gathered around the engine after its final run of the season last November.
