Glidden Celebration Concert April 28

A concert in celebration of the life of Robert B. Glidden will be held at Grace Episcopal Church in Lexington on Sunday, April 28, beginning at 4 p.m.

The concert will feature music representative of Glidden’s life and career as a musician and educational leader. All are welcome to share in a musical expression of appreciation and remembrance through works of Berlioz, Joplin, Mozart and many more featuring the church’s new Opus 3941 Casavant organ.

Artists taking part in the concert will include organists Dr. Theodore Davis and William Mc-Corkle, string players Dr. Jakob Hofer, Megan Mason, Meredith Nelson and Julia Goudimova, vocalists Eliza Stucki and Susie Falconer, pianist Matthew Taylor, and a chorus of Grace Episcopal Church choir and additional singers, conducted by Martha Burford.

Following the concert at 5 p.m. will be Evensong celebrating the Feast of Catherine of Siena featuring works of Joanna Forbes L’Estrange, Marilyn Shrude, Haydn and others. The same musicians will be performing under the direction of guest conductor Dr. Kyle Nielsen.
