ROCKBRIDGE COUNTY NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARINGS

Notice is hereby given per Section 15.2-2204 of the Code of Virginia and Section 808 of the County of Rockbridge Land Development Regulations (the Regulations) that public hearings will be held by the Rockbridge County Planning Commission on Wednesday, May 8, 2024, at or after 7:00 p.m. in the Board of Supervisors Meeting Room in the County Administration Building, 150 South Main Street, Lexington, Virginia 24450 to consider the following applications: 1) Virginia Electric & Power Company DBA Dominion Energy Virginia, 5000 Dominion Blvd, 3rd Floor SW, Glen Allen, Virginia 23060 has made an application for a Special Exception Permit (SEP) for modifications associated with the timeframe of a previously special exception application pertaining to the storage of materials and equipment in Zone AE Hatched (Floodway) of the Special Flood Hazard Area. The SEP was approved by the Board of Supervisors on November 28, 2023. The properties are located on the east side of River Road (Route 663) approximately 1.58 miles west of the southern intersection of River Road (Route 663) and Glasgow Highway (Route 501). The properties are owned by Keith W. and Penny G. Holland, 80 Forge Road, Lexington, Virginia 24450 and are further identified as tax map numbers 108-3-A, 108-3B, and 98-16-1. The properties are located in the Agricultural and General Uses (A-2) Zoning District and are within the Flood Hazard [Overlay] District (FH-1). Per section 608.11-2(6) of the Regulations, the storage of materials and equipment in Zone AE Hatched (Floodway) of the Special Flood Hazard Area is a use by Special Exception in the FH-1 Overlay District. The properties are located in the Natural Bridge Magisterial District.

2) Virginia Electric & Power Company DBA Dominion Energy Virginia, 5000 Dominion Blvd, 3 rd Floor SW, Glen Allen, Virginia 23060 has made an application for a Special Exception Permit (SEP) for modifications associated with the timeframe of a previously special exception application pertaining to develop a private heliport. The SEP was approved by the Board of Supervisors on November 28, 2023.

The properties are located on the east side of River Road (Route 663) approximately 1.58 miles west of the southern intersection of River Road (Route 663) and Glasgow Highway (Route 501). The properties are owned by Keith W. and Penny G. Holland, 80 Forge Road, Lexington, Virginia 24450 and are further identified as tax map numbers 108-3-A, 108-3-B, and 9816-1. The properties are located in the Agricultural and General Uses (A-2) Zoning District. Per section 603.03-4 of the Regulations, private, non-commercial landing strips, or heliports are a use by special exception in the A-2 Zoning District. The properties are located in the Natural Bridge Magisterial District.

3) Virginia Electric & Power Company DBA Dominion Energy Virginia, 5000 Dominion Blvd, 3rd Floor SW, Glen Allen, Virginia 23060 has made an application for a Special Exception Permit (SEP) for modifications associated with the timeframe of a previously special exception application pertaining to develop a transmission pole staging and assembly area (Public Utilities). The SEP was approved by the Board of Supervisors on November 28, 2023. The properties are located on the east side of River Road (Route 663) approximately 1.58 miles west of the southern intersection of River Road (Route 663) and Glasgow Highway (Route 501). The properties are owned by Keith W. and Penny G. Holland, 80 Forge Road, Lexington, Virginia 24450 and are further identified as tax map numbers 108-3-A, 108-3B, and 98-16-1. The properties are located in the Agricultural and General Uses (A-2) Zoning District. Per section 603.03-9 of the Regulations, Public Utilities are a use by special exception in the A-2 Zoning District. The properties are located in the Natural Bridge Magisterial District.

CITY OF LEXINGTON NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING TO REVIEW A PROPOSED AMENDMENT TO THE CITY OF LEXINGTON ZONING ORDINANCE

A public hearing will be conducted by the Lexington Planning Commission at 5:00 P.M. on Thursday,April 25, 2024 in the first floor meeting room of the Rockbridge County Administrative Offices, 150 South Main Street, to allow persons to appear and present their views in response to a proposal to amend Article III. Use Matrix and Article XI. Use and De sign Standards of the Zoning Ordinance to allow mobile restaurants to operate in Jordan’s Point Park and Brewbaker Field Sports Complex with a written agreement with the City of Lexington. The proposal is to amend Article III to add Mobile Restaurant as a by-right use in the P-OS zoning district; and to amend Article XI to amend the use and design standards for mobile restaurants.

A copy of the draft Zoning Ordinance Amendment, case number ZOA 2024-02, is available for public review and examination between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. in the Planning and Development Department located on the second floor of Lexington City Hall, 300 East Washington Street.

REQUEST FOR BIDS TOWN OF CRAIGSVILLE LEAD SERVICE LINE ASSESSMENT AND INVENTORY April 10, 2024 The Town of Craigsville, VA (Town) is requesting bid proposals for services to support their lead service line inventory program. The Town has an estimated 900 service lines that must be verified.

CITY OF LEXINGTON PUBLIC HEARING

The City Council of Lexington will conduct a public hearing at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, May 2, 2024 during its regular meeting, held in the first floor meeting room of the Rockbridge County Administrative Offices, 150 South Main Street, Lexington, Virginia, concerning Ordinance 2024-04 which appropriates funds approved in the fiscal year 2025 budget. The ordinance includes rates, fees, and taxes to be established for the fiscal year.

The proposed real estate tax rate for FY25 is $0.92 per $100; no changes for personal property tax rates are proposed. Water and sewer rates are proposed to increase by an average of 8.0%. Citizen comments are welcome at the meeting or you may submit public comments in writing to the following email address: [email protected], by US Mail to City Manager’s Office, 300 East Washington Street, Lexington VA, 24450, or by leaving it in the City’s drop box at the rear of the building (facing the parking lot) and addressed to the City Manager’s Office. NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING #1 PROPOSED 2024/2025 WATER AND SEWER RATES BUENA VISTA PUBLIC SERVICE AUTHORITY

The Buena Vista Public Service Authority will conduct a public hearing on May 2, 2024, at or around 6:00 p.m. in the City Council Chambers of City Hall, located at 2039 Sycamore Avenue, Buena Vista, Virginia. The hearing will be conducted to receive public input on the proposed FY 2025 schedule of water and sewer rates. A copy of the Resolution proposing the water and sewer rates may be obtained from the Secretary of the Authority in the City Manager’s Office located at 2039 Sycamore Avenue, Buena Vista, Virginia. The Authority is giving consideration to adopting the following water rate and sewer rate for FY 2025: Water rates $8.58 per 1,000 gallons Sewer rates $9.04 per 1,000 gallons
