Kerrs Creek

Rachel Clark, (630) 607-9938 [email protected]

Thank you to Laura Hotinger and everyone on the praise team for leading worship at New Monmouth Presbyterian Church. The praise team led the congregation in the song “Father Long Before Creation,” a song based on a Chinese hymn that has been translated into English. The praise team practices together at 9:30 am on Sunday mornings and anyone is invited to participate. Rachel Clark preached the sermon on the arrival of the Kingdom, based on Matthew 4.

There will be a vacation Bible school planning meeting on Sunday after church.

There will be no Monday afternoon Bible study next week but we will resume our study of the Sermon on the Mount on May 6.

The session of New Monmouth met for their monthly meeting on Sunday. Please note that we will celebrate communion on May 12, and New Monmouth will have guest preacher Greg Jewett on Sunday, May 5. We will switch to our summer worship schedule on Sunday, May 26. That means worship will be at 10 a.m. (adult Sunday school only at 9 a.m.) on May 26 and throughout the rest of the summer. Our next music Sunday is June 9. Mark your calendars and let Casey or Rachel know if you would like to provide special music that day. We will have a fellowship lunch following the service.

Vacation Bible school will be here before we know it. New Monmouth invites children ages preschool through rising sixth-graders to join us for “Nicodemus, PI” June 3-6 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. VBS is free, and dinner is provided. We will have a Bible lesson, do activities, enjoy a craft, and have plenty of fun! Email [email protected] to sign up! On Friday, June 7, we will host a game night with a special treat of ice cream sundaes. This will be an intergenerational night of fun- all ages welcome!

Thank you to Tim Welsh, Chris Slaydon, Bill Hacket and others who have been working on the bathroom remodel at New Monmouth. Thanks for all your hard work to provide us with a handicap accessible bathroom.
