Carolyn Bradley, 540-258-2720 Wes Young Jr. preached his first sermon as pastor of Glasgow Baptist Church this past Sunday. He is looking forward to getting to know those in the church, as well as out in the community. Church services are held each Sunday at 11 a.m. All are welcome. Due to declining attendance in recent years, there are only two active Sunday school classes, one for women and one for youths, who meet at 9:45 a.m.
The first annual spring bazaar sponsored by the Virginia Bandits Youth Sports organization held at the old Natural Bridge High School gymnasium was a big success, with good food and fellowship. They tell me there may be another later in the fall.
The big day for the spring vendor event at the Glasgow Farmers Market is this Saturday, April 27, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. They are located at corner of 10th and Kanawha, across from the car wash, and across the highway from Glasgow Baptist Church. Twenty-three vendors with various products are scheduled to be set up under roof, around the parking lot and into the empty lot next to the market, on Kanawha Street. Customer parking will be in the field directly across from the car wash, 10th Street.
