ROCKBRIDGE COUNTY NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
Notice is hereby given per Section 15.2-2204 of the Code of Virginia and Section 808 of the County of Rockbridge Land Development Regulations (the Regulations) that a public hearing will be held by the Rockbridge County Board of Supervisors on Monday, May 13, 2024, at or after 6:00 p.m. in the Board of Supervisors Meeting Room in the County Administration Building, 150 South Main Street, Lexington, Virginia 24450 to consider the following application: 1) Lewis W. Hamilton Jr. & Kendra R. Hamilton, 1647 Magnolia Ave., Buena Vista, VA 24416 have made an application for a special exception permit to develop and operate a special event venue. The properties are owned by Lewis W Hamilton Jr. & Kendra R. Hamilton and are located off of Black Bear Trail (Private Road) on the east side of Irish Creek Road (Route 603), approximately 4.06 miles east of the intersection of South River Road (Route 608) and Irish Creek Road (Route 603). The properties are in the Agricultural and Limited Uses (A-1) Zoning District. Per Section 602.03-13 of the Regulations, Special Events are a use by special exception in the A1 Zoning District. The properties are further identified as tax map numbers 65-A-6 (8.12 ac, - per tax records) and 65-A-6C (5.19 ac. – per tax records). The properties are in the South River Magisterial District.

APPLICATION FOR VARIANCES FROM THE SIGN STANDARDS FOR RESIDENTIAL PROJECTS FOR THE PROPERTY LOCATED AT 0 CHAMBERLAIN LOOP, LEXINGTON, VIRGINIA A public hearing will be conducted by the Lexington Board of Zoning Appeals at a meeting to begin at 6:00 P.M. on Monday, May 20, 2024 in the CommunityMeeting Room located on the Second Floor of City Hall, 300 East Washington Street, to allow persons to appear and present their views in response to an application seeking variances to 1) the number of allowable subdivision entrance signs, and to the 2) maximum allowable height and 3) maximum allowable display area of said entrance signs for the Weatherburn subdivision at 0 Chamberlain Loop (Tax Parcel 39-1-6 & 39-1-6B) located in the R-1/PUD zoning district. The applicant is proposing to retain two unpermitted, freestanding entrance signs which exceed the residential sign standards with respect to number, height and display area.
A copy of the application, case number BZA 2024-01, is available for public review and examination between 8:00 A.M. and 5:00 P.M. in the Planning and Development Department located on the second floor of Lexington City Hall, 300 East Washington Street.
