The Goshen Fire Department will host its annual Spring Fling event this Saturday, May 11 from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m.
All proceeds from the event will go to the Goshen Fallen Firefighter Scholarship in memory of Devin Riley, who died in a car accident last May.
“We want to honor and remember our fallen brother,” the department said in a post on its Facebook page about the upcoming event. “He loved this event. Our membership collectively decided for as long as we are able to have a Spring Fling, it will be in Devin’s honor. All proceeds will help fund the Goshen Fallen Firefighter Scholarship for years to come.”
As of last Tuesday, 18 vendors have signed up, and there will also be food, a Chinese auction, carnival games and a bounce house. At noon, a ceremony will be held to remember Riley and other firefighters who have lost their lives.
