Michael Moore, 53, of Lexington died Feb. 4

 

Specialist Michael Eugene “Moe” Moore, 53, of Lexington, son of Graham Lewis Jr. and Betty Moore, passed away Saturday, Feb. 4, 2023.

He is survived by his mother, Betty W. Moore; sister, Sara Moore Landrum and husband Ronnie; two daughters, Sierra Moore and Cheyenne Moore Henson; step-mom, Gloria Moore; and many nephews and nieces.

He was preceded in death by brother William Moore and father Graham Lewis Moore.

Mike was a veteran of the United States Army, serving as a commander of a M1 Abrams tank. His platoon was the HHc 2nd BN 37th Armed Regiment.  He was stationed in Germany as well as served with the joint bases during the Bosnia and Iraqi conflicts and peace missions.  Mike gave 10 years of his life fighting for the freedom of Americans. Mike had several honor medals and awards presented to him by the U.S. military for his outstanding service and accomplishments and for the saving of thousands of lives.

Family and friends will be welcomed Thursday, Feb. 9, 5 to 7 p.m. at Bolling, Grose, and Lotts Funeral Home, Buena Vista, as well as the funeral being held there at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 10, and a final military recognition at Rockbridge Memorial Gardens after the chapel service.

Family and friends are also welcome at Betty Moore’s home, and at a gathering at her home before the Friday funeral procession, for those who would like to come.

Arrangements are being handled by Bolling, Grose, & Lotts Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
