May 15, 1974

Linda L. Krantz was named the new librarian for the Botetourt-Rockbridge Regional Library. She and her husband David were camping in Glen Maury Park until they could move into their new home in Buena Vista. - Dr. Homer T. Cornish of Nokesville became the new minister at Timber Ridge Presbyterian Church. - The Mel Brooks comedy “Blazing Saddles” was playing at the State Theatre in Lexington.

Lexington’s old train station was moved to make way for Washington and Lee University’s new arts and music facility adjoining the Lenfest Center for the Performing Arts. - Two storm cells dumped 6.7 inches of rain and dime-sized hail on the Goshen area in about three hours time causing flooding along Va. 39-42. - The annual Relay for Life raised $80,000 in the fight against cancer.
