Vesuvius

Carolyn Terrell, (540) 430-4915/[email protected]

I hope all the mothers had a wonderful Sunday with your family. Although my mother is gone, I still thank God for her. I went to the home of Justin Horn and my granddaughter, Courtney Terrell. We celebrated Mother’s Day and their daughter Ellie’s 6th birthday.

Better health prayers for Doug Gonslaus. He is a former preacher at Emory and Fairfield United Methodist churches.

Sympathy is extended to the family and friends of Samuel “Peck” Thomas. Peck was the owner of Peck’s Bar-B-Que in Staunton. He started the business in Fishersville in the early 1980s before moving to Waynesboro. Finally he moved the business to Staunton on U.S. 11. Peck will be missed as well as his delicious barbecue.

New Providence Church will be having its vacation Bible school June 10-13 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. each evening. The theme this year is “Wade in the Water.” Dinner will be provided.

On Friday, May 10, I met with some of my Waynesboro High School friends at Rowe’s Restaurant in Staunton. It is always so good to see these gals! Judy Johnston was in from Nashville visiting her sister (Arlene Fisher Cunningham), so she joined us.

You all have a great week and may blessings shower down on you.
