High Bridge

This past Sunday, High Bridge Presbyterian Church honored its graduates. Scholarship Chairperson Linda Wood and Scott Hannah, assisted by committee members Faye Worley and Becky Hannah, were in charge of the program. Elder Scott Hannah recognized the following graduates: from Rockbridge County High —Katherine Lotts, Jackson White, Cole Tackett, Nicole Black, Bishop Tolley; from Maury River Middle School — Aaron Black, Ayden Reed and Annalise Smith (home schooled). Elementary graduates were Cody Thompson (Natural Bridge) Harley Armentrout and Adalyn Whitney (Buchanan), Silas Worley (Waddell) and Raylan Smith (home schooled). The elementary graduates received nice gift bags. A reception followed the worship service.

The Rev. Steve and Amy Willis attended the graduation of their daughter Mary from Lynchburg College on Thursday, May 16.

We were pleased to have John Lund of Raleigh, N.C., visit the worship service this past Sunday. Also visiting were Ted and Kathy Hannah Durham of Roanoke.

Summer worship hours begin May 26 with worship service beginning at 10 a.m. We are taking a break from Sunday school classes throughout the summer. Small group Bible study will meet tomorrow, Thursday, May 23, with Joe Hawes delivering the lesson.

The evening circle meets Tuesday, June 4, at 6 with Garnette Teass. Bible study will be led by Dwinnie Shafer.

The Natural Bridge/Glasgow Food Pantry will open on Saturday, May 25, from 9 to 11 a.m. The High Bridge congregation is collecting cereal for the food pantry during the month of May.
