The Rockbridge County High School girls lacrosse team defeated Blacksburg 24-6 in the Region 4D championship game in Lexington on Friday evening.
Lola Mulitalo poured in 16 points, notching seven goals and nine assists, to lead the top-seeded Wildcats (15-1) to their fourth consecutive regional title. Nala Shearer and Anna Nye each tallied five goals and two assists, with Nye also collecting 12 draw controls and six caused turnovers.
Libba Erskine totaled seven caused turnovers and four ground balls, while Nadia Gaydos and Halina Homiak also picked up four ground balls apiece against the third-seeded Bruins (12-5).
RC will take a 14-game winning streak into the Class 4 state tournament. In the state quarterfinals, the Wildcats will play host to Powhatan on Friday, May 31, at 6 p.m.
