The Wildcats (15-1) collected their fourth consecutive Region 4D title last week, defeating Blacksburg 24-6 in the regional final in Lexington on Friday. They enter the state playoffs on a 14-game winning streak.
The Indians (14-2) qualified for the state bracket as the runner-up from Region 4A. In Friday's regional title game, they lost a 14-13 nailbiter to Hanover.
RC has defeated Powhatan in the quarterfinal round in each of the past two Class 4 state tournaments. In last year's meeting, the Wildcats claimed a 12-5 victory at The Fields at Southern Virginia University.
The winner of Friday's quarterfinal matchup will face either Hanover or Blacksburg in the Class 4 semifinals next week.
