June 3, 2024 Editor, The News-Gazette: Every day we learn more about the disastrous open border policies of the Biden administration — more deaths from fentanyl; illegal immigrants hacking two teens to death; two other adults shot execution style for no reason; and a handicapped teenaged girl raped and murdered by illegal immigrants here in Virginia.
Add to this the high cost to Virginia communities to house, feed and educate the illegal immigrants.
I am happy the Sixth District has Ben Cline as our congressman. Ben supported HR2, a House bill passed that seeks to really reform our broken immigration system. He has been a fighter to get the Laken Riley Act; the Consequences for Social Security Fraud; the Agent Raul Gonzalez Safety Act; and other laws to stop the disastrous open border policies.
He has also voted to impeach Homeland Security Secretary Mayorkas for failing to enforce existing immigration laws and lying to Congress. He was one of the members of Congress assigned to present the articles of impeachment passed by the House to the Senate. For the first time in history, the Senate received the articles and nothing was done - no hearings scheduled, no action, nothing!
Senate Democrats fail to act on the impeachment articles just like they ignore common sense immigration reform laws from the House. Virginia’s two senators, Kaine and Warner, are among those ignoring, voting against or openly opposing nearly all immigration reform bills from the House.
Thank you Congressman Cline and I hope others will write to their senators and tell them to support HR2 and the other common sense immigration bills.
