The congregation of Glasgow Baptist Church honored their new pastor, Wes Young Jr., and his son, Luke Young, with a covered-dish dinner following church services this past Sunday. Pastor Young and Luke attended a seminar at Liberty University last Friday.
The Rockbridge Area Health Center Medical Unit will be setting up at the farmers market pavilion, at 10th and Kanawha, today, June 5, from 1 to 4 p.m.
The farmers market almost had a full house of vendors last Friday, but a few had to cancel, leaving only seven – The Potter’s Hand, Pinkie’s Sweet Treats, Tucker’s Tie Dye, Valley Pig Poppers, Zollman Produce with tomatoes, corn and squash, and the market manager with craft items. Bizzee B’s was on hand with a free hotd og lunch for everyone. The market is open each Friday and Saturday from 10 to 2 p.m. Let’s all go to the market and support this effort by the town of Glasgow to bring products to the citizens.
Congrats to Adam Funkhouser and Mary Reynolds on the birth of their fourth child, a son, Jax.
The first Rockin’ the Gorge music event for 2024 will take place June 15 at Locher Pavilion. Admission is free and gates open at 5 p.m. The Late Night Stumblers will be playing from 6 to 9.
