Congratulations to senior Anna Wilson for placing in the 2023 Scholastic Art & Writing Awards at the state level, and in the 2022 Drexel Photography High School Contest, which is held on a national level. Wilson’s photograph “Hams and Bacon” will move on to be displayed at Drexel University in Philadelphia, Pa. Another photograph, “Torn View,” which was entered in the Scholastic Art & Writing contest, will be displayed at the Fine Arts Center for the New River Valley.

On Jan. 22, the RCHS Forensics team competed in the Shenandoah Valley Forensics League Championships. Senior Abigail Brooks took second place after competing in the Dramatic Interpretation category and freshman Liam Stillwell took third place after competing in the Extemporaneous Speaking category.

Parent/Teacher conferences will be held on Feb. 9 from 3:30 to 7:30 p.m. To sign up for a conference, visit the Rockbridge County High School website to schedule meetings with your child’s teacher you wish to meet with.

The STARTALK Arabic Program’s applications have opened, and the tentative dates for this year’s program are June 26-July 23, and will run Monday through Friday each week from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The STARTALK program funds tuition costs for six hours of college credit for this summer program. RCHS will now offer content specific tutoring after school, starting this week.
