Shenandoah Valley VFW Post 1499 and the American Legion Floyd-Davidson Post 126 partnered to offer a trip for members and families to the National D-Day Memorial in Bedford on June 6 for the 80th anniversary of D-Day commemoration. A school bus was provided by Rockbridge County Public Schools, and Bob Gay, member of the VFW and the American Legion, drove the bus. The National D-Day Memorial offers free admission on June 6 to all veterans and free admission to all active duty military every day.
