Dorothy Virginia Humphries, 95, of Vesuvius died Feb. 7

Dorothy Virginia Humphries, 95, of Vesuvius died Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2023, at Shenandoah Nursing & Rehab.

Born Nov. 6, 1927, in Fairfield, she was a daughter of the late Charles Hunter Snyder and Minnie Clements Snyder.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Lenwood Humphries, and a son, Lenwood Humphries and his wife Kathy, brother Marshall Snyder and sister Edna Starnes.

Dorothy was a member of Vesuvius Baptist Church.

Surviving are her children, Judy and Rod Harmon, Larry and Rhonda Humphries, Leon and Susan Humphries, JW and Kimberly Humphries; siblings, Madeline Wilhelm, Lib Runkle, Faye McCullough, May Snider, Sylvia Jean Bush, Barbara Mays and Chuck Snyder; 11 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 11, at Harrison Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Fred Salmons officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery. Family will receive friends one hour before the service.
