Mountain Gateway Community College (MGCC) is readying a CyberPatriot Summer Regional Governor’s School, a free summer program designed for local high school students interested in information technology (IT).
The program offers high school students the unique opportunity to explore cybersecurity careers, cyber ethics, online safety, computer operations, cyber threats, cybersecurity principles, and virtual machines. Participants will gain valuable knowledge and skills crucial for a successful career in the cybersecurity field.
The week-long program will run from July 8 to 12, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily at MGCC’s Clifton Forge campus. All rising ninth to 12thgrade students in the MGCC service region are invited to apply. Campers must bring their lunches daily, and pizza will be provided on Friday. Additionally, each camper will receive a commemorative T-shirt.
