A celebration of life for the late Daryl Cash, a local mechanic, was held on Sunday afternoon at Locher Field.
The health center’s mobile unit was set up at the market building on Tuesday, June 25, for a dental clinic.
Mike Bradley was a vendor at the C&O Heritage Festival in Clifton Forge last weekend. He was accompanied by his mother, Carolyn Bradley. In spite of the heat and humidity it was a great event with lots of folks venturing out to take advantage of shopping lots of vendors, touring the RR museum and real RR cars, as well as taking a ride around the event on a miniature train. Mike and Carolyn were able to ride that train before departing on Sunday afternoon.
The town of Glasgow has hired a new administrative assistant, Ashley Kerr, who was introduced at the last Town Council meeting. She’ll greet you when you drop by with your water bill payment, or to take care of any business. Cynthia “Sissy” Steelman, who has been holding down two positions, is the financial director and can be found in the office across the hall. The new town manager, Allyson Finchum, was also introduced at the last meeting. She will assume her duties in July.
In spite of there being other events going on around the county, the first Rockin’ The Gorge music event had a nice crowd on hand to listen to The Late Night Stumblers and enjoy some delicious food from Bizzee B’s and the Glasgow Volunteer Fire Department.
Speaking of Bizzee B’s, they will be offering a variety of foods from their trailer this Friday, June 28, at the Farmers Market, between 10:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. They will also offer free hotdogs to children. The market is open 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Come get your lunch, pick up something for dinner and check out the vendors.
