Virginia Military Institute announced the hiring of Kyle Friesenhahn as its new head diving coach on Monday of last week.

During his tenure, the Statesmen have earned eight conference titles and a second-place mark in the 2019 NCAA D-II National Championships.
Before Delta State, Friesenhahn led the diving program for Lindenwood University in Missouri for four seasons. While with the Lions, Friesenhahn was a part of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics and conference swimming and diving coaching staff of the year in 2010 after leading Lindenwood to a conference championship, his first of three titles. He was also dubbed conference women’s diving coach of the meet in 2012.
A graduate of Lindenwood, Friesenhahn earned a bachelor of arts in mass communications with an emphasis in radio and television in 2009 and later secured a master’s degree in business administration with an emphasis in sport management in 2010.
