The family descendants of Thomas Nelson Beale gathered together this weekend in Lexington July 5-6 to celebrate their family lineage and heritage.
Thomas Nelson Beale was born in 1865 in Buffalo Township, Murat. Thomas had once owned a farm in Collierstown on Buffalo Road. He was married to Malinda Green Lee and they reared nine children, four boys and five girls, all born from 1885 through 1902. Many of the children settled in Buffalo Township and Lexington. The children were Walter, Forest, Mary, Frank, Buelah, Daisy, Carrie, Henry and Linnie. The descendants gathered at the Best Western Plus for a meet and greet on Friday, July 5, and a soul food picnic at Glen Maury Park on July 6, followed by a dinner and family lineage historical presentation. The following people were instrumental in arranging this two day celebration: Linda Frye, Frances Moore, James Moore, Marcerlen Dates, Thomas Beale and Alex Spencer. This event was enjoyed by all that attended.
