High Bridge

Esther Pennington, 540-291-2629 The Rev. Marina Gopadze, retired pastor from Buchanan Presbyterian, served as the guest speaker this past Sunday at High Bridge Presbyterian Church. This Sunday the Rev. Steve Willis and wife Amy will have returned from their trip to attend her family reunion in Tampa, Fla.

Audrey Armentrout of Natural Bridge and Tim Wilhelm of Kerrs Creek were able to attend church service after recent illnesses kept them away for a few weeks. Other visitors were Linda Madison of Roanoke and our newlyweds, Joe Forrest and Emma Hawes. Also visiting were Todd, Audra and Nora Upchurch from Lovettsville and Layla and Caroline Braford of Richmond, who were visiting their grandparents, Bill and Lee Braford.

High Bridge will observe Holy Communion on Sunday, July 14.

Small Group meets tomorrow, Thursday, July 11, at 7 p.m. at the fellowship hall with Joe Hawes leading the Bible study. Light refreshments will be served, and visitors are welcome.

Presbyterian Women moderator Carol Tolley has scheduled a coordinating team overnight retreat in Pulaski at the summer home of Chris and Courtney Thomas.

Vacation Bible school will be held Saturday, July 27, at Cave Mountain Lake.

Mark your calendars for Aug. 25 when Sunday worship will be held at Cave Mountain Lake pavilion.

The Natural Bridge/Glasgow food pantry will have a board meeting on July 22 at 4 p.m. (note time change). The pantry will open on Saturday, July 13, from 9 to 11 a.m. The High Bridge congregation is collecting canned meats and vegetable oil for the food pantry during the month of July.
