A Fun And Festive Fundraiser

The Fourth of July holiday got an early start with last Wednesday’s Freedom Food Festival in downtown Lexington. TOP LEFT, Boxerwood and the Lexington Catering Company served up some spicy noodles with tofu and lime Asian slaw. TOP RIGHT, a trio of festival attendees look very patriotic. AT LEFT, SJ McDonald performs some of her own music as well as country favorites from the 1990s. AT IMMEDIATE LEFT, Rockbridge Area Habitat for Humanity and Lex Vegas Bistro brought Caribbean fare to the festival with island shrimp rolls, jasmine rice, cilantro slaw and grilled pineapple. BELOW LEFT, the RCHS baseball team paired with Pure Eats to produce Wildcat slider smash burgers, macaroni salad and deviled eggs. BELOW RIGHT, the judges for the event have their plates full. BOTTOM RIGHT, Elizabeth Knapp minds the till for The Community Foundation for Rockbridge, Bath and Alleghany, which teamed up with the Natural Bridge Historic Hotel and Conference Center to make a Southern-themed meal with barbecue chicken leg quarters, macaroni and cheese, green beans and cornbread.
