3:40 p.m. – Washington and Lee University just posted that the bomb threat has been “resolved.”
“Law enforcement found no active threat to campus safety. Individuals may return to campus,” read the post.
2 p.m. – Washington and Lee University remains closed to employees and visitors as law enforcement continues to investigate this morning’s bomb threat.
Street barricades have been extended into the downtown, with Washington Street being blocked off from Jefferson Street back to Nelson, and Lee Avenue closed at its intersection with Nelson Street.
W&L posted a notice late in the morning closing the campus for the remainder of the day and until further notice.
11:30 a.m. -- The University announced that the campus has been evacuated and will be closed "for the rest of the day and until further notice." Law Enforcement is continuing their search of the campus.
9;30 Wednesday morning - Washington and Lee University employees are being asked to leave campus, and the public is asked to avoid the campus and West Washington Street, after the university received threat of a bomb on campus.
W&L posted a notice about the bomb threat at 8:14 this morning, and Alert Rockbridge just posted a notice asking the public to avoid the area as emergency personnel are working on “an active incident.”
The location of the bomb was not specified, according to the W&L post.
