If you love history, or even if you don’t, you won’t want to miss the history event planned for this Saturday, Feb. 18, at the Thompson Community Center beginning at 1 p.m. The center is located at 207 Catawba Street in what we call north Glasgow … the old school house. To me history is more interesting when it concerns yourself, or people you know, or the place you live. That’s what is event is about - the history of the people who live here now. This is their story.

It may have been Super Bowl Sunday and football for some, but more importantly it was a “Super Sunday” at Glasgow Baptist Church with special music by the little girl with the big voice, Makenzie Camden, who nailed it when she sang “One day at a Time” before the sermon. Then guest speaker, the Rev. Michael Curry, delivered a powerful message to those attending. If you don’t have a church home, you’re invited to join the folks at Glasgow Baptist for Sunday school at 9:45 and morning worship at 11. Guest speaker this coming week will be Dr. Phil Ayers.
