Betty Marlene McDaniel, 76, of Lexington died Jan. 3

Betty Marlene McDaniel, 76, of Lexington, died on Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2023, at her home.

Born on May 17, 1946, in Rockbridge County, she was a daughter of the late Boyd Franklin Horn and Florence Blanche Moore. 

Mrs. McDaniel attended Elliots Hill United Methodist Church in earlier years and was the office manager for McDaniel Plumbing.

Surviving are her husband of 58 years, Carl Shelvy McDaniel Jr. of Lexington; a daughter, Cynthia Heath of Clayton, N.C.; a sister, Mary Hunter; a brother, Kenneth Wayne Horn; and one grandchild.

A memorial service will be conducted at Harrison Funeral Chapel at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 6, by the Rev. Lucy Hughes. Interment will be private.

Memorial contributions may be made to Habitat for Humanity.
