Editor, The News-Gazette: Letters in your paper that list federal money being spent without Ben Cline’s vote are a strong incentive for me to vote for him.
I’m all for Buena Vista maintaining their swimming pool. But it seems to me that if they want a properly maintained swimming pool, then they should pay for it.
The proper role of our federal government is not to take money from the people who earned it to fix swimming pools – even the pool of our friends.
I am gratified to have a representative that respects the limited and enumerated powers of the government in which he serves, and I am hopeful that others will be voted in at all levels who share that respect. RUSS ORRISON Rockbridge County
