In the June 18 article about Team Na-Na, titled “Local Hoops Team Travels To Tennessee,” there was misinformation printed about the fundraising efforts.
The information about the SNAP fundraiser was correct, but, in a second fundraiser, the team is collecting shoes of any size and type, not funds, at the drop boxes listed. The second fundraiser is through a company called Funds2Orgs, found online at funds2orgs.com, and it’s the same fundraiser that Balloons Over Rockbridge recently did. Team Na-Na will receive a certain amount of funds for each bag full of 25 pairs of shoes collected. The shoes are used to support micro- enterprise vendors, or small businesses, in developing nations.
Team Na-Na will be collecting shoes through the end of July, and they can be dropped off at the locations listed in the June 18 article. . The drop-off locations are Vinyl Cuts and Edgewater Animal Hospital PC in Buena Vista and, in Lexington, Buck’s Barber Shop, Cindy’s Hair Salon, BB&T-Truist on U.S. 60 and the Rockbridge Area YMCA.
