The show, which starts at 7:30 p.m., has a runtime of 2.5 hours, including a 15-minute intermission, and it is suitable for ages 10 and up. Concessions will be available for purchase. Outside food will be allowed into the venue for this event, but outside alcohol is prohibited.
The performance will take place at Lime Kiln rain or shine. Hamlet centers on a reluctant hero making impossible choices. Returning home after his father’s death, Hamlet is unsettled by his mother’s speedy remarriage to his uncle. Then the ghost of Hamlet’s father appears and reveals that he was murdered by the man who now wears his crown – and commands Hamlet to murder him in revenge. But can you trust a ghost? Hamlet fakes madness while searching for the truth. He’s surrounded by faithful friends (or are they friendly spies?), an anguished court, and a troupe of oddly relevant actors. This revenge tragedy brims with intrigue, trickery, heartache, and more than a little humor.
