There will be a blood drive sponsored by the Rockbridge Area NAACP in the cafeteria of the Glasgow Community Center this Friday, Aug. 2, from noon to 4 p.m.
The NAACP would like to remind the public that patients fighting sickle cell disease may require regular blood transfusions to avoid health crises. “You can make a difference,” a spokesperson said. “Donate blood.”
To streamline a blood donation experience and save up to 15 minutes, go to Red-CrossBlood.org/RapidPass to complete the pre-donation reading and health history questions ahead of your appointment.
The community center is located at 207 Catawba St. in Glasgow.
