High Bridge

Esther Pennington, 540-291-2629 Visiting High Bridge Presbyterian Church this past Sunday was Nora Upchurch from Lovettsville. She has been visiting her grandparents, Sam and Violet Vest, and greatgrandmother, Audrey Amentrout. Other visitors were Daisy Wilhelm Thomas from Virginia Beach with her two daughters. Visiting from Martinsburg, W.Va., were Mark and Max Pennington.

Vacation Bible School was a success and leader Donna Lotts thanks all those who helped to make it so.

The evening circle has decided to meet after all at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 6, with Lea Braford at the Willows. Bible study will be led by Dwinnie Shafer.

Mark your calendars for Aug. 25 when Sunday worship will be held at Cave Mountain Lake pavilion.

Sympathy is extended to the family of Jake Barger, who passed away recently. He was a member of the Natural Bridge High School Class of 1955.

Jane and Brenda Shafer, Cathy Ayers and Jane’s nieces, Susan McKnight and Sandy Watts, recently returned from a seven-day Abbott Bus Lines Mystery Trip where they toured places of interest in Pennsylvania and Ohio.

The Natural Bridge/ Glasgow food pantry will open promptly at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 3, and close at 11. The High Bridge congregation is collecting pork and beans for the food pantry during the month of July.
