The Worship Ministry of Manly Memorial Baptist Church is having a hymn sing this Sunday, Aug. 4, at 6 p.m. The sing, which will last approximately 45 minutes, will include a variety of hymns and songs organized around the theme, “Adore the Triune God”. The Christian doctrine of the Trinity, that God exists as three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, is a mysterious and vital cornerstone of the faith. Through singing hymns old and new, gospel songs and spirituals, those gathered for the hymn sing will explore and celebrate this essential tenet of Christianity.
Dr. Greg Parker, worship leader at Manly Memorial, will lead the singing and will be joined by soloists, Michael McLaughlin and Lori Parker. Kailesh Amilcar, interim organist at Manly Memorial and a junior at Washington and Lee University, will accompany on the organ and piano.
The church is located at 202 South Main Street in Lexington. Admission is free. Dessert will be served in the church fellowship hall afterward.
